Categories and playlists
Creating a category
Create a category by clicking the "New Category" button, type a category name and click save.

You can add up to six categories. Latest & User Videos categories are not editable.
Deleting a category
To delete a category it must have no playlists within it.
Once a category is empty of all playlists, the "Delete This Category" button appears when the category is open. Click the button to permanently remove that category.

Edit a category name
Right click on the category you want to edit and select "Edit Category Name".

Type the new name in the space provided and click anywhere outside the text box or press enter to save.
Creating a playlist
Select the main category you want your new playlist to be listed under.
Click on the blue + icon, type the desired playlist name and click save.

Deleting a playlist
A playlist must be empty of all videos before it can be deleted.
Once a playlist is empty of all videos, the "Delete This Playlist" button shows. Click the button to permanently remove the playlist.

Some playlists have special behaviors attached to them such as a "Report Pal" playlist so make sure you know what you're deleting.
Edit a playlist name
Right click on the playlist that you want to edit and select "Edit Playlist Name".

Enter the new name in the space provided and click anywhere outside the text box or press enter to save.
Change how a playlist is displayed
You can change the way a user sees a playlist both within the CMS and embedded playlists in your web pages.
When you open a playlist a menu appears above it with various options.

1. Toggle between thumb and description modes.
2. Order the playlist by date, alphabetically or number of views.
3. Order from top to bottom or bottom to top.
4. If "auto" is selected, once any video is finished playing, it then plays the following video in the playlist. Selecting "single" will only play the video that was selected.
5. Grab (copy embed code to clipboard) playlist, Report Pal and uploader.
You only need to copy and paste the playlist code once. Whatever layout and behavior option you choose will dictate the layout and behavior an embedded playlist will have and automatically update itself.
Create a searchword playlist
With video keyword tagging it's possible to generate a playlist dynamically based on the keywords you've input.
For example: if you create a searchword playlist using the word "snowboard", all videos tagged with the word "snowboard" will be displayed in the playlist.
Click the "Searchword Playlists" button.
Click the "new" button to make a new playlist. This will add a playlist called "My New Searchword Playlist" to the list.

1. Edit the playist name.
2. Choose whether to show your own admin videos and/or user generated videos
3. Add your comma-separated keywords to be used to create the playlist.
4. Select which data fields are searched to find a keyword match.
5. Set the maximum number of video results to display in the playlist.
6. Set the ads to be played in front of videos in this playlist.
7. Click the "Save" button to set any changes.
Click "playlist" in the "grab" section. HTML embed code will now be in your clipboard to paste in your web page.

Searchword playlists can also be created with code which adds the following benefits for developers:
1. Change layout and ordering options on the fly.
2. Ability to change searchwords based on user input so you can create playlists on the fly like the one on this support page.
3. Ads can be attached to the resulting playlist based on keywords.
For for information on code based searchword playlists, see MVP Developer Tools.
Upload & manage videos
Uploading a video
To upload a video as an administrator, first make sure you're logged in. Select the category and then the playlist you want to upload to.
Click on the "Upload My Video" button, type in the video title, comma separated keywords and description (These can be changed later). Click "Upload" to choose a video file.

Once a video is selected the upload process starts and an upload status bar shows you the progress during the upload and conversion processes.
After the video has been successfully uploaded and converted the playlist will automatically refresh and the new video thumbnail will show.
Change a thumbnail image
You can either upload an image to be used as the thumbnail or select a frame from the video.
To upload an image to be used as the thumb, right click on the thumbnail and select "Upload New Thumb Image".
Select the image file. The thumb image will change straight away.
To select a frame to be used as the thumb, play the video and click the pause button on the required frame (you can scrub to the correct frame if it's not the one you want), right click on the video and choose "Select Frame as Thumb".
Edt a video title or description
Right click the thumb of the video you want to edit and select either "Edit Title" or "Edit Description".

Enter the title or description in the space provided then click anywhere outside the text box to save. You can also press enter to save when editing titles. Pressing the enter key when editing a description shifts the cursor to the next line.
"Edit Description" will only be available when the playlist is in description mode.
Edit video keywords
Right click on the thumb of the video you want to edit and select "Edit/View Keywords".

Type in keywords separated by comas and press enter to save. Click the X button to discard any changes.
Delete a video
Drag the thumbnail of the video you want to delete on to the trash icon.

You'll be promted to confirm the delete and/or perform other deletion options.
Moderate a user video
When a user uploads a video it gets stored in the "User Videos" category and awaits approval by an administrator.
Click the "User Videos" category. Locate the video, check it's content is suitable for viewing and then click the check box on that video. This will make the video available to the public.

If the user provided an email address during the upload process, you'll be given the option to send a notification to them to say their video is live. You can choose to send the email by pressing the "Send Notification" button or bypass by clicking the X button.
Move a video to another playlist
To move a video from one playlist to another, simply drag the thumbnail of the video in to the new playlist.

Copy a video to another playlist
To copy a video to another playlist, simply start dragging the thumbnail of the video and then hold down the shift or ctrl (Apple key on Macs) keys on your keyboard and then release the mouse in to the new playlist. You'll know it's copying instead of moving because a blue + icon will appear on the thumb.

Placing videos in your web page

Open the video you want by clicking on it's thumb. Click the "Grab Player" button.

Click the "player" button in the "grab" area. The HTML embed code is now in your clipboard to be pasted in to your web page.

Place a playlist in your web page
Open the playlist you want to put in your web page and click the "playlist" button in the "grab" section. The HTML code needed is now in your clipboard. Paste the code in to your web page.

As playlists are built on the fly, you don't need to re-paste the playlist when it's updated. Changes happen automatically.
Place a Report Pal player in your web page
The Report Pal feeds from a playlist by selecting the most recent upload on the fly.
To set a playlist to be a Report Pal Playlist, contact us and let us know.
Open up the Report Pal Playlist and select the "Report Pal" button in the "grab" section. The HTML code is now in your clipboard. Paste this in to your web page.

Place an uploader in your web page
You can place an uploader in your web pages exactly the same way as you do with videos, playlists and Report Pals.
Open the "User Videos" category and click the "uploader" button in the "grab" section. The HTML code is now in your clipboard. Paste this in to your web page.

To make a video automatically copy itself to a playlist when it's been uploaded and moderated, follow the steps above but grab the code from the playlist instead of the "User Videos" category.

Edit upload disclaimer
When a user uploads a video, they are first shown a disclaimer. This is editable by you and can contain hyperlinks and HTML formatting.
Open the "User Videos" category and click on the "Edit Disclaimer" button. Edit the text to your requirements and click the "Save" button.
